Idaho’s Newest Smart Connected Workspace Opens Its Doors January 20

MERIDIAN, Idaho – (January 6, 2010) – The Ground Floor powered by VengaWorks, a smart connected workspace for Idaho entrepreneurs, opens its doors Jan. 20 in Downtown Meridian. The Ground Floor is a project of the Meridian Development Corporation (MDC), the urban renewal agency for Downtown. The new flexible workspace is in a historic building at 136 E. Idaho and offers emerging businesses an economical way to take their work to the next level. 

“As we begin the New Year and look forward to new opportunities for our Downtown, we’re thrilled to open the doors on The Ground Floor,” said Craig Slocum, MDC Board chairman. “As with Destination Downtown — our ongoing master plan process — we’re taking steps to ensure Downtown Meridian is a sustainable destination for our citizens to live, work, play and innovate.”

Using VengaWorks as the managing organization will expand The Ground Floor’s resources and capabilities by adding it to a larger network of VengaWorks locations being developed throughout the Treasure Valley. Given its central location, The Ground Floor is set to become a key entrepreneurial destination — hosting business seminars, providing gathering space for local organizations, and acting as a hub for events that enhance Downtown Meridian’s innovative culture.

The Ground Floor powered by VengaWorks™ Launch Party

January 20, 4 – 7 p.m.

136 E. Idaho, Downtown Meridian

The first 10 guests at the Launch Party will receive a month’s free membership!

On the day The Ground Floor opens it will host the latest meeting of Jelly! — a co-working event that brings creatives together to work alongside each other in a welcoming environment — from 11-4 p.m. prior to the launch party.

The Meridian Development Corporation is also conducting their latest Destination Downtown work session on January 20. The public is invited to stop by 703 North Main Street anytime between 6 and 8 p.m. to learn more about, and get involved in, the process to design a master plan for Downtown Meridian.
